Preliminary Sequence

What went well
  • We used many different camera angles: high-angle, low-angle, worms eye view and pan. I think it is useful to use a variety of shots because it shows that we have carefully thought out the what angles we are going to use and I think it shows we have knowledge of different camera angles which is really useful before actually conducting the actual opening sequence.
  • When the conversation was occurring we had Sam sitting down so that we could use a low camera angle to emphasise that Zara has more authority over Sam. This makes Zara look a lot bigger to sam and the audience to represent she has power and she looks intimidating.
  • Match on Action when coming down the stairs. This adds contunity to our preliminary sequence. Having contunity in our preliminary sequence establishes a logical coherence between shots.
Even better if

Editing issues:
  •  Zara doesn't say her line, "Do you think I was joking" clearly enough and before that line there needs to be a pause. It is essential that the audience hear every line because the dialouge in a film can be signigificant. I think there needs to be a pause before she says the line because it doesn't look and feel right as a member of the audience. I think it would be better if we started the edit a few frames back.
  • You can hear a clicking sound from the camera. This is a problem because it isn't part of the film world.
  • Someone is laughing. It is an issues because it isn't part of the film world.
